SENATE INQUIRY NEWS

The effectiveness of Airservices Australia's management of aircraft noise

At last the long awaited report from the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee.  Have a read through the pages and decide whether all of your questions have been addressed.

Are the Birds really more intrusive than aircraft.

Have a browse at your leisure through the attached report which is deemed to address "Aircraft Noise Measurement - Perth Airport".

People live in the hills for peace and tranquility, bird song and rural pursuits.  Perhaps one thought would be that bird song is not intrusive and in fact ceases during the night, hardly something which can be said for the aircraft noise which has been imposed upon hills residents.

Environmental Assessments

After years of requests, via the PANMCC  for the Environmental Assessment conducted by Airservices Australia with regards the Western Australia Route Review Project, a document has surfaced.

This document has very quickly been followed by an Enviromental Post Implementation Review to the changes associated with the Western Australia Route Review Project.  These are very interesting reading, specifically look at the recommendations for areas which have not previously been subjected to aircraft movements, something which has been deemed as "not an issue".

GOVERNMENTS DUD RESPONSE TO SENATE'S AIRCRAFT NOISE REPORT

Many thousands of people living in the Perth Hills applauded the Senate Committee's report of Inquiry into Airservices Australia's management of aircraft noise.  We were heartened by the fact that the Committee put little stor in Airservices pleadings at the hearings or (late) submisssions of evidence; to the extent that Recommendation 9 would require them to remedy the significant noise that the WARRP has visited upon Perth Hills communities.

Whilst the Senate caught up with Airservices in their damning report; it seems the same sort of grey-suited man who perpetuated the cruel hoax of self assessment of Airservices; now advise the Minister for Environment - or are both Ministers Albanese and Burke corrupting the process and having a lend of all of us?

Please download Fairskies reponse to the Government's rejections last week.  The facts concerning Airservices' self assessments (not revealed at hearings) are damning.

Implementation of the Senate's Report Recommendations are vital; this country needs a robust and independent ANO, we need Airservices to straighten up and fly right and we need the WARRP re-examined and changed....the passive indifference of this government and these ministers amounts to a willful default of their responsibilities.
